Thanks Greg! I'll be around - lol! I have the ok from doctors and physical therapists to get back to it, but with limitations for now.
Hitting Chest and Back tonight, but bands and assisted pull ups only for now. Push ups have to be cut in half of my usual, even if I feel I can do more. They want me to actually avoid the push ups and just do standing push ups using a vizio ball against the wall and standing at an angle. Still get a workout but much less body weight to start.
Plyo is ok, but heavily modified to avoid getting the feet off the ground much and work on my form to prevent the knee from going over the toes when squatting down.
No shoulder presses or upright rows for now either. Plan to just do extra front/back/lateral raises. Light weights on bi's and tri's because of tennis elbow in both arms.
Legs are ok except stationary lunges rather than walking to more easily control location of knee to toes.
Extra Yoga recommended for the stretching. Kenpo more of the same.
Any other suggestions/ideas are welcome. MAYBE I'll post before pics/but likely NOT. lol
Later, Bill

Anything is better then nothing, glad to see that are letting you out of the cage, lol. It won't be long and I bet you'll get the green light to give it hell. It may seem like a head ache now , but do what they tell you, in the long run you'll still get where you are going.
What tips did they give you for the tennis elbow?
Again, welcome back.

What tips did they give you for the tennis elbow? At home I do a couple of stretching exercises (list below) 2 to 3 times a day for about 10 minutes or so. Had me wear a gel strap over the area to minimize how much impact day to day movement had on the area. The less stress on the area all day was supposed to help reduce the irritation and thereby the inflamation and promote faster healing. I didn't use it though because it kept cutting off circulation and my hand would go numb no matter how loose we made the strap. I hear it works well for others though. something like this www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000NO5VBG/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_2?pf_rd_p=486539851&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B000JNPHW4&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=0YMRA51SPN9HGP03QBZM For stretch - hold your arm straight out in front with palm facing you and fingers pointing to the ground. Using your other hand, pull that had in toward the body to stretch. While stretching, try turning your arm withOUT allowing the hand that is facing down to move. This should really tug at the top of the forearm where it connects to the elbow. Next I walk up to a wall and have my right (or left) side facing the wall with my arm straight out. Place my palm against the wall, with hand and fingers pointing behind you and turn away from the wall until you can't stretch any further. You will feel a pull all the way from the finger tips, through the palm and up the arm, bicep and into the shoulder. At therapy, they also used massage, laser and ultrasound to warm the joint and increase blood flow to the area to generate faster healing. We do this twice a week. They are also stretching the Maya fascia (spelling). It's the thin skin like mesh that gives the muscles their shape or helps keep their shape - not sure exactly, but ... Like on boneless chicken, there is sometimes a thin layer of skin you pick up - it's that stuff. It can knot up much like a muscle does and causes pulling and joint tenderness. They have to do that at therapy though, nothing I do on my own. Don't know if that will help. A month ago I could pick up a cup of coffee, now I'm able to grab my 17lb laptop no problem.

Kool, thanks. At first I couldn't eve lift a protein powder tub. Feel better now. I have been using a heated gel pack 2 times a day for about 30 minutes each time. I have done no lifting on the right side that requires the joint to bend. I'm going to try to lift some in the morning and see how it feels. Will do the stretches you listed above.

Well - I gave it one week of modified exercises. With MUCH less weight and intensity than I'm used to, I was VERY sore and it mildly inflamed the tender areas. Going to use the same level of Resistance and intensity this week to see what reaction the joints have (more or less inflammation/pain). If the same or more, might have to take different approaches or lay off again for a while. If its a little better, we'll keep going and increasing every couple of weeks.
Tendinitis in the shoulder blades and left elbow is just holding on for dear life! lol Knees definitely will take longer, but making improvements. Anxious to get going again and get in shape for the summer (temps near 70 all this week :0) ).
Good luck everyone!

Well - 2nd week of modified workouts. Going better than last week and VERY sore still. I did increase the intensity of chest/back and plyo workouts (impatient personality), but still much less than I'm accustomed to. Tendinitis in the shoulders didn't bother me at all and seems to be going away just like that. The elbows still bother me, but it's so much less than before that I'm starting to feel like there is a light at the end of this tunnel!! Now if the damn insurance companies (yes plural - RV and home) would quit playin games fix the water damage - I'd really be good. With Plyo, I probably will never be able to do all of it exactly as written since some of the moves are just too much for my knees, but I got through the whole thing and I was completely wasted - felt great to get at it like that again. Of course, the same sinus issues/chest congestion that started my recent setback, is back again uugghhh! So far so good this time though. Shoulders and arms will be tonight if I can get home in time. Work is off the hook right now and when self employed, you take what you can while you can. lol Later boys and girls.

The key thing is that you are still pressing play... one of the biggest things I love about p90x is that there are so many ways to modify it and still get results.... and there are going to be exercises that each of us won't be able to do but we do what we can modify when we have to and feel GREAT after.... keep up the good work

Well now - the setbacks are here again!!
The inflammation in my joints isn't going away. So .... My diet is getting changed AGAIN, to loose the bread/pasta/grains and most dairy (known causes of inflammation - to varying degrees in each person - most don't even notice it), but I'll post up what I end up doing and how it's working. Once we get the inflammation down, I will start adding certain things back in in moderation until we figure what causes the most issue and how much is too much - 6-10 month project.
Haven't been able to work out hard for days because I'm having trouble breathing again (pneumonia setting in again apparently). Good news is I told my Dr to shove it when he wanted to put me on anti biotics again rather than figure out what's causing the issues. Ears/Nose/throat specialist nailed it yesterday in 5 minutes!!! Two days on a nose spray (flonaise) and I'm already breathing better. Fingers crossed this works or I'll have sinus surgery. Either way, it'll get resolved!!! Yall have no idea how happy this makes me. Been fighting this since last Sept!!
Catch up with yall later. Bring IT!

Hey fellas and ladies -
It's been a while as I still have a black cloud that I can't seem to shake!! Since April, the breathing issues are still here and prevented me from going too crazy. Found massive amounts of mold growing in my basement (my workout area) and that isn't helping until I can get it resolved.
Lets see, what else - lol! My knee problems came back with a vengeance, but we were on our way back when I decided I hadn't had enough and fell down the stairs on my deck.
Right now I have bruised and sprained toes, twisted/sprained and bruised foot and ankle, severely bruised and sprained knee, bruised ribs, bicep tear on both arms and something pretty bad to the calf and Achilles tendon (waiting on test results to see if there is any dmg requiring surgery).
Good news??? My son was in my arms and using my ribs, I was able to keep him safe and he is fine!
I heard three snaps on the way down and thought for sure much was broken but alas the x-rays say otherwise. Still not able to put any weight on the foot or get through the night without vicadin, but otherwise counting my lucky stars it wasn't much worse!!
I hope everyone else is doing well and keeping with it!! Good luck to all and I hope to be back (again lol) by the end of the summer.
Have a good night!
Bill
