ooooookkkkkk!! I know I'm not the greatest in the kitchen, but wth!!! lol
Anyone have a simple recipe for turkey burgers that give them some flavor and juiciness? I don't like onion (unless they are vidalia (sp?) and they aren't available right now), or mushrooms.
I've found quite a few on you tube and the couple i tried didn't turn out too well!!! haha Most say to add an egg, so I tried that tonight and it turned into soup!!!! It didn't look anything like the ones I saw!!!lol

Egg in ground meat is generally to serve as a binder. as for flavor... there must be some recipes on the net somewhere

oh absolutely - don't get me wrong, there are tons of different recipes on the net. That's where I got the last two. Before I tried another though, I just thought I'd see if anyone on here had one they liked.
I'v used an egg in my ground beef when I'm making meatloaf, but never tried it with actual burgers. If I had more turkey to add in, it might have been ok, but without .... lol
thx.

here is what i do and they turn out great! 1lb turkey meat(ultra lean 94/7) Lawrys Sesoning Salt Parsley Flakes Garlic Salt I take 4 servings of lawrys(yes i know its high sodium ) and 2 servings of garlic salt(generally to taste) and mix it in the meat. I usually get 4 pattys per 1lb of turkey and then throw them on the george foreman. I top the burgers with the parsely flakes. Then add some fat free cheese slices on top. They are not the greatest ever...but it certainly tastes better than just regular turkey. I thought about instead of adding the lawrys salt(due to sodium content). I would just put some blue cheese crumbles in the middle of the turkey and cooking them that way. I know when i used to do hamburger that was it was incredible.

heres mine and they are good ;D
1lb of lean turky mince. 1 red onion chopped in to small bits. 1 green pepper chopped into same size as onoin. 1 red chilli chopped fine. 1/4 cup of wholegrain oats. 1 egg. lowsalt and freshly cracked black pepper.(to taste)
get it all in a big mixing bowl and get your hands in and mix and mush it all up it it dosent roll in to a big sticky ball then add another egg, once its in the big ball i put it in the fridge for 30 min then take it out and just split in to patties of the size req. and grill untill ready, i get about 5-7 burgers out of it,have a couple and freeze the rest.
i either have them with low fat cheese slice a couple of pickled gurkins, a grilled portabelo mushroom and salad or on a wholegrain roll with lowfat cheese slice, salsa and english mustard. mmmmmmmmmmmmm ;D
